About

Hello and welcome! My name is Michelle Wilson. This website supports the digital publishing education and services I run through Columbia University Libraries where I have been the Digital Publishing Librarian since 2018. Prior to obtaining my MLIS from Rutgers and beginning my work at Columbia, I was the Associate Editor for Art Reference at Oxford University Press where I worked on the Grove Dictionary of Art and the Benezit Dictionary of Artists. Since 2018, I have also been the co-chair and editor of the Digital Art History Directory (DAHD), a publication and initiative of the Art Libraries Society of North America (ARLIS/NA).

I seek to inspire students, instructors, and researchers in our community to explore digital storytelling and new technologies through active learning and experimentation. Through my teaching resources and guided learning activities, I hope to equip students and our publishing partners with digital literacies that enable them to engage in digital scholarship with criticality, ethics, and playfulness.

Find me on twitter @TheLibrarianM, where I occasionally share Columbia DS projects and photos of our mascot, Tallulah the golden retriever.
